Conway appeared on the Bootleg Kev Podcast to announce that he is leaving rap group Griselda and going solo. Conway has no beef and still supports his former group members, but he said it is time for a bigger bag.
Conway The Machine Looking For A New Record Contract
Currently, Conway is only signed to his own label – Drumwork Music Group. During his interview on the podcast, Conway spoke on helping to build Griselda and having no bad blood with anyone.
“I put that shit on my back,” he said of the label. “Me and bro [Westside Gunn] built that.”The Buffalo, New York native also said that he’s looking around for new record deals and also compared his situation to basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who signed a $293 million contract back in 2020.
“It’s free agency right now you heard,” he said. “I need that supermax man — I need that Giannis bag.”
Evidently, the rumors of the Griselda breakup were true. Conway denied the rumor back in 2021 when asked by Ebro In The Morning saying,
“We all good. We in this sh*t so deep now that everybody on their own thing. Like West got the store, the clothing line. He’s having kids at a rapid rate. He has his family and sh*t. Benny, he has BSF. He has artists he’s trying to push and things he’s trying to do, a sports firm. Benny on fire. We ain’t really have the time to mob together all the time. We all live in different cities now. Life is treating us differently. When we together, we together.”
Conway’s New Album Coming
Conway The Machine announced in January that he is about to drop a new album. Rapper Conway The Machine is back with new music for 2022. The release date for his highly anticipated Shady Records debut album God Don’t Make Mistakes is finally set for Friday, February 25th.
Conway Partying WIth Diddy
Conway was recently spotted at a party with Diddy and Bow. Griselda’s Conway The Machine isn’t spending his nights in the studio. The hip-hop artist takes a moment away from music-making to turn up alongside music icon Diddy.Puff Daddy’s not the only celebrity in the place. Rap veteran Bow Wow is also turning up alongside them.
