Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly bestowed Top Dog Entertainment rapper Isaiah Rashad with the key to the city. He declared June 17 as Isaiah Rashad Day after the Tennessee rapper performed in front of a huge crowd.

Firstly, a video of the Mayor reading the proclamation made its way to Twitter. A caption read:

“Officially Isaiah Rashad Day  #ZayDay Congratulations Isaiah Rashad.”

Many fans were excited to give Rashad his flowers on social media.

A Twitter user identified as @stupidbitchkam was very excited about the “RIP Young” rapper’s new honor. He tweeted:

“ISAIAH RASHAD HAS HIS OWN DAY IN CHATTANOOGA NOW & THE KEY TO THE CITY LOVE TO SEE ITTTT.”

Moreover, another user on Twitter identified as @boone_murrayy gave the southern lyricist his props on the accomplishment, tweeting:

“Isaiah rashad really just had his mayor from his home town in Tennessee come out and give him the key to the city and made today Isaiah Rashad day”

Rashad Tells All

The TDE artist is enjoying having a day named after him in his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee. After being outed as gay earlier this year, he sat down with Joe Budden to describe the aftermath.

Furthermore, Rashad sat down with Joe Budden for an exclusive interview after a leaked sex tape outed him as gay earlier this year.

He opened up for the first time to Budden about having suicidal thoughts, the pressure from his family and peers, and the impact that the scandal would have on his kids.

In addition, Rashad struggled to find the words to describe how it felt to lose self-worth and often feeling alone in a room full of people.

“I go through these highs and lows from feeling like invincible, to feeling the worst,” he told Budden in the intimate conversation.

The car accidents mentioned above w the only times the “Headshots” rapper attempted to harm himself. He discusses self-inflicted cut marks from his youth that are now covered with tattoos. He also opened up about avoiding high-rise buildings to prevent suicidal attempts.
