City Girls’ JT tweeted Chief Keef’s lyrics as many remember a tragedy that shattered the world on 9/11. Some believe it was insensitive, while many call it bad timing.
Miami rapper JT is under fire again after a recent tweet.
As those in the US geared up to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11, the “Take Yo Man” artist had Chief Keef lyrics in mind.
JT tweeted:
“Im sliding through New York, Finna go & blow New Jersey up!!!!”
As common as it is to tweet out lyrics, many fans found it strange due to the context and timing.
The comments were flooded with fans questioning the purpose of the tweet.
One fan asked: “on 9/11?”
Another user insinuated that the tweet shouldn’t have been made.
“JT this ain’t it at all NGL.”
Some fans defended the “Act Up” artist, stating it wasn’t insensitive since the tweet refers to “blowing up Jersey” and not New York.
“Y’all saying “on 9/11?” like the twin towers was in jersey. Pls ok?”
Rather it was a case of bad timing or not, it definitely raised the eyebrows of many Twitter users.
