The tension between formerly married couple The-Dream and Christina Milian are rising once again as new reports claim the singer is demanding more money from the hitmaker.
According to reports, Milian wants a significant percentage of Dream’s publishing.
Justin Bieber is at the center of a dispute between Christina Milian and The-Dream. The former couple is engaged in a legal battle over payments from the teen pop star’s smash “Baby”. As part of their divorce settlement, The-Dream previously agreed to pay Milian a significant amount, including 10 percent of his publishing stake in Biebs’ 2010 hit single “Baby”, which he co-wrote with her. According to TMZ, the “Love King” is not happy because Milian is demanding more money, including a larger percentage of the song’s earnings. (Rap-Up)
Last month, Milian opened up about her divorce in the January issue of Latina.
“No matter what, you can’t change who you are. I know that now. I tried to be someone I wasn’t because I wanted my marriage to work. But ultimately, if it’s not working, it’s not working…I didn’t know anything. But looking back, my gut was telling me something was off. But I thought I could fix it…I learned a lot about myself this year. I learned what I can handle. I learned how much I can take. I learned who I am and what I will accept for myself and my daughter. I feel brand new. I’ve been to h*ll and back, but I survived. I’m stronger for it and now I’m ready for the next phase of my life.” (Latina)
In early December, Milian addressed rumors claiming she was paid $4 million to remain mum on the details of her divorce.
“I have no idea where that rumor came from, and it’s completely a rumor,” Milian said in an interview with television host Wendy Williams. “Everything about that it is all fictitious. I’m completely allowed to speak about anything that I want to. Except the settlement, we do choose to not [publicize the details].” (“Wendy Williams Show”)
Milian also said she hoped her divorce would remain amicable.
“I didn’t want to fight…I really want my daughter to have her father around and to have a friendship, to try to build somewhat of a friendship for my daughter, and have some kind of relationship to be able to speak to each other about her every day. I didn’t want to fight. I’m moving on.” (“Wendy Williams Show”)
The-Dream and Christina Milian were officially wed in September 2009.
