R&B singer Christina Milian has reportedly called out soon-to-be ex-husband The-Dream for cheating on her during their five-month marriage.
Details on Milian’s response to recent divorce paperwork were revealed this weekend.
Despite The-Dream publicly announcing the end of their marriage, Milian insists it was quite the contrary and that the two even had “marital relations on numerous occasions” after the paperwork was filed. If the court does grant the divorce, Milian wants it to be for reasons other than that their marriage was “irretrievably broken,” instead claiming that The-Dream was cheating on her. In her legal response, filed last week in Georgia, Milian admits that she signed an agreement with The-Dream that waived alimony or ownership rights to each other’s property. However, she maintains that she was in no state to sign such documents because they were brought to her when she was nine months pregnant. (Rap-Up)
Based on court documents, Dream filed for divorce days prior to Milian giving birth to their child, Violet, last February.
TMZ has learned …. Christina Milian’s husband — The-Dream — filed for divorce nine days before she gave birth to their only child. According to documents filed in Georgia and obtained by TMZ, The-Dream — aka Terius Nash — claims the marriage is “irretrievably broken.” The-Dream filed his papers on February 17, but the docs never surfaced until we found out. Milian gave birth to their only child, a daughter named Violet, on February 26. In the divorce docs, The-Dream declares, “There is no hope for reconciliation.” (TMZ)
Last week, Dream issued an open letter to fans addressing his separation.
“I take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for misleading everyone into thinking everything was fine and okay when we knew problems existed for awhile! I wanted to speak up but we decided it wasn’t for anyone to know. I would NEVER intentionally hurt a soul and everyone around me knows that! There was so much going on in me and Christina’s personal world that I tried to deal with it as delicately as I could and tried to regain my footing. Instead of being direct in order not to cause even more hurt or hurt someone’s feelings, I carried the weight in secret! I am Human and people fall in and out of Love all the time… This is Life. Nothing’s promised or perfect, neither am I. I am not proud that I lost something we once had…LOVE! I’ve always been a Loving Father, Hard Worker, Generous, Stern and Eager to prove myself. My faults are I can be irresponsible and an ass sometimes, but I HAVE NEVER and WILL NEVER be a malicious person or wish harm to anyone, especially those I love or the mother of my child.” (The Life Files)
Prior to the letter, a rep for Dream announced the couple’s marriage had officially come to an end.
Christina Milian and The-Dream have decided to separate, his rep confirms to UsMagazine.com. “Terius ‘The-Dream’ Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina Milian was unsuccessful. The couple reached this decision in late 2009, but decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family moving forward,” his rep tells Us. (Us Magazine)
The-Dream and Christina Milian were officially wed in September 2009.
