[With a new tour on deck to support his recently released Chemically Imbalanced album, Connecticut rapper Chris Webby gives SOHH readers the inside about living on the road.]

The tour life is very f*cking exhausting. It wears you down. It tests you both mentally and physically when you’re out there for extended periods of time.

People don’t realize how tiring touring really is because of course it’s great hopping on stage and being able to connect with fans every night but what they don’t see is the days leading up to that. It definitely involves a long travel in the morning, making time to get sound checked and maybe getting a little dinner in your stomach and shower and make it to the show and then you wake up and do the same f*cking thing the next day.

I used to tour a little differently when I first started touring. I was like, ‘Oh sh*t, this is f*cking amazing. I’m going to run around every night and see where the girls are at.’ Now that I’ve been on four or five extensive tours, I’m much more chilled out. There are, of course, the nights to have fun but you’re there to do a job and I don’t want to feel like sh*t the next day. I take my sh*t seriously.

It’s not as much of a party as people think it is but don’t get me wrong, it is a lot of fun.
