Chris Rock’s “Top Five” Co-Star Names Her Favorite Scene, Gushes Over Cedric The Entertainer’s Role

[With Chris Rock's new "Top Five" Blu-ray/DVD out this week, actress Sherri Shepherd talks to SOHH about her favorite scene, working with the comic legend and co-star Cedric the Entertainer's on-screen character.]

I’ve seen Chris Rock in so many different situations and he just goes onto that stage and I go, “Uh oh. Do you know how many letters you’re gonna get tomorrow?” But the people are laughing. He is controversial. He’s in your face and I admire that. He’s fearless when he goes onto that stage.

I would love to say my favorite scene is where we’re in the projects going back and forth. I love Cedric [the Entertainer] so much, too. I love him so much because you’re so used to Cedric being a certain way, he went all out in the movie.

His character is every promoter I’ve ever met during my time doing standup on the road. Cedric embodied everyone and I loved it.

I think Cedric was able to speak his peace into the yumminess of his character and he just let it go.
