Hollywood heavyweight Chris Rock is ready to get back into the movie spotlight. The Netflix star has teased social media about his anticipation to see a Black Panther sequel.
Rock went to Instagram Tuesday (February 20) with a shot of himself and a few high-profile entertainers all interested in Black Panther 2.
After just 96 hours, Black Panther turned into one of the biggest movie openings – ever.
Overall, Black Panther generated the fifth largest opening weekend of all-time (Friday-to-Sunday) behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($248M), Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($220M), Jurassic World ($208.8M), and The Avengers ($207.4M). That is amazing company. The much anticipated PG-13 super hero film was expected to be huge, but the results actually flew higher once movie fans had the chance to start coming out. The four-day average was a gargantuan $58,458 from 4,020 locations. (Rotten Tomatoes)
The Marvel Studios release even sparked an unexpected Twitter appearance from former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Congrats to the entire #blackpanther team! Because of you, young people will finally see superheroes that look like them on the big screen. I loved this movie and I know it will inspire people of all backgrounds to dig deep and find the courage to be heroes of their own stories.

This past weekend, Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan reacted to his flick’s massive box office success.
“218 [million dollars]. Woo. See what happens when we support each other? Ain’t nothing we can’t do. You show up, you show out. You see what happens? It’s crazy. It’s just the beginning though. Let the movement continue.”
