According to reports, Chris Breezy will be able to stay put in Los Angeles instead of traveling across the nation Monday (November 25).

A judge says R&B singer Chris Brown doesn’t have to travel from Los Angeles to Washington to appear in court. D.C. Superior Judge Robert Tignor agreed Friday to let Brown waive his scheduled appearance on Monday. Brown is facing a misdemeanor assault charge. He and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were arrested last month on charges of punching a man outside a hotel who tried to jump into a picture with the singer. Brown was ordered into anger management rehabilitation this week following a Los Angeles court appearance. His lawyers say they haven’t had an opportunity to review evidence with him. They told the judge it didn’t make sense for him to check out of rehab and travel cross-country when all they plan to do Monday is request a new court date. (Myrtle Beach Online)

The 24-year-old crooner’s camp revealed his unexpected decision to seek professional help in late October.

The singer’s arrest Sunday on an assault charge put him on a path toward a possible prison sentence, but he will be in a rehabilitation facility as his next court date approaches. “Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility,” said a statement Tuesday night from his representative. “His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.” There has been no indication that Brown, 24, has a substance abuse problem. The behavior that has landed him in legal trouble over the past several years has been anger management. (CNN)

Following the high-profile arrest, Chris Breezy left jail on October 28 and also had his charge reduced to a misdemeanor.

The charges against singer Chris Brown and his bodyguard stemming from a weekend fight were reduced to simple assault misdemeanors Monday. The two men, who had spent the previous 36 hours in a Washington jail, entered a packed courtroom in leg irons and handcuffs, but at the end they were unshackled and released without bail Monday afternoon. Brown, 24, was ordered to report to his California probation officer within 48 hours and to stay at least 100 yards away from the man he is accused of assaulting early Sunday. Both men must return to court on November 24. (CNN)
