R&B singer Chris Brown has reportedly asked a judge to ditch a lawsuit aimed at him for promoting violence and a near-death shooting at a nightclub last year.
According to reports, Chris Breezy is pointing the finger at the club’s security.
Paul Briley says in a lawsuit he was shot a year ago during a Chris Brown concert in San Jose. He claims Brown is responsible because he attracts violence and should have maintained better security. Brown has now responded, saying it’s the club’s responsibility — not his — to protect patrons. (TMZ)
Chris Breezy posted an Instagram message about the incident in January 2015.
According to reports, multiple people were taken to a nearby San Jose hospital following the gunfire.
Brown was singing at 1:20 AM and the crowd seemed peaceful … then, suddenly, gunshots ring out, sending everyone including Chris into panic. Four people were rushed to the hospital and one victim left and showed up at the ER later. Several people were detained but it’s unclear if anyone was arrested. Brown was not injured. (TMZ)
Police did not initially announce what motivated the shooting.
Promotional materials say Brown was to attend the event billed as a VIP birthday bash for several people including the singer’s manager. Video posted on social media shows Brown performing while gunshots can be heard inside the club. Police have not yet said what the motive might be for the shootings. (KRON 4)
