Rather than come up with excuses, Chris Breezy owned up to his past mistakes.

“I realize that what I do for a living opens my life to public scrutiny and that I have a responsibility to everyone because of that exposure,” Brown tells Billboard. “I can say that I am only human and I have made mistakes. I can say that I try to live my life in the most true, honest way that I can. I am not perfect, no one is. No one is harder on me than me. No one can please everyone. No one can live in the past and expect to grow. I have been moving forward and hope that I am not defined by just a few moments in my life but all of the moments that will make up my life.” (Billboard)

Chris Brown swallowed the bullet in court this week…

Chris Breezy issued an open apology during his Monday (September 1) court appearance in an assault case.

Brown pled guilty to misdemeanor assault and was sentenced to time served. He previously spent two days in a D.C. jail in this case.

During his court appearance on Monday, Brown issued an apology. “I would like to say to the court that I’m sorry,” he said.

Brown’s attorney, Danny Onorato, said that Brown had already been punished extensively for the assault including the 108 days he spent in an L.A. jail. (Rap-Up)

Back in June, Chris Breezy decided to put up a fight in the case.

Under it, Brown would plead guilty in exchange for time served – with no jail time and no probation. However, after hours of negotiations, Chris Brown reportedly turned it down because of how the script was worded. Brown’s defense attorney, Mark Geragos, briefly addressed media outside the courtroom at 3:45 p.m. Sources previously confirmed to ABC7 News that plea deal negotiations had been taking place between Brown and his lawyers and D.C. prosecutors – but Brown was obviously not happy with the deal offered. Recent reports suggested Chris Breezy could be back in a suit and tie for his publicized Washington, DC crime case in late June.

As TMZ first reported … despite his admission of violating his Rihanna probation, Brown maintains he didn’t specifically admit guilt in the D.C. assault case. But TMZ has obtained documents filed today by the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia … asking a judge to now make June 25 the start date for the trial … instead of just a status conference. The prosecutor disagrees with Brown’s assertion … and says his admission DOES count as an admission of guilt in this case, and therefore the trial should begin without any further delay. (TMZ)
