Reason 2: Functionality
The second reason is because it’s functional. It’s not super loud and overpriced and overdesigned. It’s simplistic urbanwear. You look at some of the brands that have been redefined, the Rocawears and the Sean Johns, and the style and quality that went behind those brands before they were sold off so to speak. YAY is following in those same footsteps in that we want to keep it close to the consumer. It’s something that’s fresh and simplistic with its approach.

The third reason is because you’re making sure we keep this legacy alive of someone who’s a pioneer, I think we can call him that in the industry for doing things his way, and not selling out to the makers. We did his music project our way. When you look at the clothing line, we did it our way. Every item that’s purchased, it obviously supports Chinx’s legacy and the legacy that we’re leaving to his family.

The fourth reason is because of the quality. Nobody wants to buy anything that’s cheap and falls apart. We’ve done enough testing to know the quality is behind each item that we put out on the YAY line.
