The wife of late rapper Chinx has come forward to speak out on his shocking Sunday (May 17) slaying in New York City.

According to Janelli Caceres, Chinx’s murder was unwarranted considering how his life centered on family and music-making.

“He was not the kind of person who got involved in trouble. That just wasn’t him,” she said. “He spent as much time with his kids as possible, outside work. His life was his family and his music. … I don’t have anything to say to anyone who is responsible. There is never a good enough reason to do something like this.” (NY Daily News)

Music mogul Diddy remembered Chinx on social media Sunday (May 17).

According to reports, gunfire, which wounded an unnamed victim, killed Chinx around 4 AM EST Sunday (May 17).

The victim, shot multiple times in the torso, has been identified as 31-year old Lionel Pickens of Ozone Park. Police say the victims were driving a Porsche westbound on Queens Blvd when a second vehicle pulled up to them at 84th Road, where a gunman from the second vehicle fired multiple rounds inside the first car, striking the driver and the other person. 1. he was in a group called the coke boys for fuck sake… im sorry. but i get so tired of hearing these people make like these dudes getting killed were innocent lil angels. quit repping that fucking life if you aint about that life. and you are bout that life… then you already damn well know your ass can get got. either way be prepared that your ass can get it. cause you faking it, which piss mf’s off really living it. or you are living it and that’s just how the game goes. but enough with this they were lil angels and shit.

    • wgaf…some niggaz like u can only talk negative shit after something tragic happens…
as if he deserved the bullets

        • NO You missed the point!!!! What if someone from Public Enemy had been shot?!!? Would you say it’s OK because they were militant & called themselves enemies of the public?!?!? Would you say it’s OK because their message was Pro Black & they probably pissed off the government for speaking out on racial inequality?!?!?! Nas’ 2nd album It Was Written was basically him portraying the role of Nas Escobar if he’d been shot & killed at that time would you have said “well that’s what happens when you act like the biggest drug dealer in the world”? Nobody who hasn’t killed anyone/raped anyone/brutally assaulted someone needs to be murdered no matter what name he goes by or rap (MUSIC) group he/she is in!

          • how can you compare Public Enemy with Chinx DRUGS. Public Enemy didn’t poison there listeners with gangster killings and drug dealing. PE wanted to educate the black man and talk real issues effecting the black community. Total opposite from what Chinx Drugs raped and represented.

          • Did you actually read what I posted or did you skim through it?!?!? I suggest you read it thoroughly so you will not look like such an idiot!!!! Fuck it, I’ll speed up the process for you. Based on the logic of “liquidvizions” just because he rapped about everything wrong in the streets he deserved to die, which is BS. The reality is that someone racist or just a hater could find any reason to shoot someone regardless of what his music was about!

  2. No one deserves to be murdered in such a heartless gutless way, but she’s saying he was a good husband and family man but wasn’t he running around with the Kadarshians home girl, taking her on vacations and shit, people always indulge in revisionist history when someone dies
