Chicago rapper Chief Keef has some serious heat on his head. New reports claim the Windy City hip-hop artist has cops looking for him in California.
According to a news report, a judge issued an arrest warrant after Keef went ghost for a court meeting earlier this month.
Chief Keef let a little thing like a court date for a fender bender balloon into an arrest warrant … and now he’s wanted by cops in Cali. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … cops responded to a small fender bender in Hollywood in September, in which Keef was involved. When deputies arrived, they ran the rapper’s info and found he was driving on a suspended or revoked license. (TMZ)
Back in June, buzz developed over Chief Keef landing in handcuffs over a drug charge.
Keith Cozart, who performs under the name Chief Keef, was arrested around 8:30 a.m. after airport security found two THC edibles and four blunts in his carry-on, said Sioux Falls Police spokesman Sam Clemens. The rapper was booked into the Minnehaha County Jail at 9:21 a.m. without bail. Cozart is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia of marijuana and possession of between two ounces and a half-pound of marijuana. (Argus Leader)
The rap star’s camp almost immediately addressed the headline-generating bust.
Update, June 12 2017, 5:23 p.m: Chief Keef’s management emailed the following statement: “Our lawyers are actively in communication with the court and jail. We are confident that the situation will be handled in a timely fashion and that Keith will be released within the next 24 hours at the latest.” (The FADER)
