Details of the Friday (April 18) funeral service in Chi-town have surfaced online.

Big Glo’s cousin — the rapper Chief Keef — pulled into the church parking lot in a white Cadillac Escalade Friday mid-service. A little boy stuck his head out of a nearby car window and said: “Is Chief Keef here? Is he in the building?” Big Glo’s record label, Interscope Records, hired the private security, which swarmed over church grounds during the service — closed to reporters. Keef’s uncle spoke on making sure the family Big Glo left behind were not forgotten.

Standing outside the church, Hess’ father said he cares now only about the five children his son leaves behind. Holmes said he wants to set up a trust fund for them. “It’s all going to be positive,” he said. “It ain’t gonna be about no rap, not gonna be about no record labels, no deals or none of that. It’s gonna be about my son’s legacy … and making it mean something, other than just another black man gone.” (WLSAM News)

Keef hopped onto his Twitter page to pay homage to his cousin and also briefly hinted at seeing the rapper’s life demise earlier this month.

“Finna Drop my Cousin Blood Money Song – Believe Ina Glo,” Keef tweeted April 10.

According to reports, the fatal shooting took place in early April.

A shooting on Chicago’s south side Wednesday night claimed the life of rapper who’d recently been signed to a record deal. Mario Hess — also known as Blood Money — was signed by Interscope Records about two weeks ago, according to his manager and cousin, Renaldo Reuben Hess. “This was his dream and he finally got his foot in the door,” said Hess. “But that’s how it goes in Chicago. He really wanted to get off the streets.” (NBC Chicago)
