The rapper’s album is slated to hit stores around April while new music will become available for retail later this month.

Female rap veteran Charlie Baltimore is poised to make a return to hip-hop with an upcoming album due to be released next year. The Grammy Award nominated rapper, born Tiffany Lane, recently dropped a new single titled “Machine Gun,” featuring Sally Anthony. The track is meant to reintroduce Charli Baltimore before the release of her solo album, which is due in stores this April. “Machine Gun” is due in stores on iTunes on December 20. (All Hip Hop)

Since the 1990’s, fans have waited for Charli’s debut album to hit store shelves.

Fans may recall Baltimore was close to releasing her debut album more than once. First, she was to release Cold As Ice, after being featured on tracks by Cam’Ron and being affiliated with The Notorious B.I.G. among others. That 1999 album was rumored to have contained production from DJ Premier and others, but it was never released. After some time off, Baltimore reemerged as a member of Murder Inc. but was unable to garner success there. Her album was said to have features from Ashanti and Eve, but that disc was also never released. Other projects were also rumored to be released soon after but little has been heard since then. Last year, Charli talked about her four-year communication gap with Murder Inc. CEO Irv Gotti.

“I actually saw Irv in the summertime,” Baltimore revealed in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid. “Me and Irv aren’t on best terms but we speak, we’re cordial. It’s nothing. We didn’t speak for four years. So yeah, actually, we didn’t speak for four years but I’m over it. It is what it is. You just gotta keep moving on. Because if you [continue to talk about it], you just sound like, it’s almost like being institutional.” (Radio Planet TV)

In 2009, Baltimore offered her take on Lil Kim claiming she was late rapper Notorious B.I.G.’s girlfriend.

“Kim goes out of her way to say she was B.I.G.’s girl,” Charli said in an interview. “No, Kim wasn’t his girl. Straight up! She wasn’t. She benefited from the situation because she became Lil Kim. She has a career and she’s grateful to a n*gga for helping her in that aspect, but she was never his girl…B.I.G. and I were together. He bought me a car. I mean n*ggas wasn’t doing stuff for no reason. It was no game!” (Hip Hop Gossip Site)

Charli Baltimore’s new LP is slated to hit shelves April 24th.
