Chicago rapper Chance the Rapper is officially on the road to recovery after reportedly falling ill over the weekend and being forced to nix his highly-anticipated Coachella performance.

Chance provided a brief update on his well-being via Twitter Monday (April 21) afternoon.

“Feeling better thanks for the prayers. Ima be back ???? for Wednesday’s show I promise. Resting at home for now. God bless u guys,” Chance tweeted April 21. (Chance the Rapper’s Twitter)

Details of Chance’s hospitalization surfaced online Sunday evening.

Chance the Rapper will be missing the last day of Coachella, as the rising Chicago musician has been hospitalized for unknown reasons. Chance was supposed to perform Sunday at 3:10 on the main stage at Coachella. However, hours before that, a since-removed photo appeared on his Instagram account of the rapper in a hospital bed with the captain “Pray for my boy chance.” (Variety)

Heading into the weekend, Chance hinted at feeling a bit under the weather.

“Got the next two days off and got sick. #goeshomehappily,” Chance tweeted April 18.

“Don’t worry. I’ll have a full recovery in time for my @coachella set Monday night. ????” (Chance the Rapper’s Twitter)

However, posts were made onto his Twitter page on Sunday about his condition.

“On behalf of @chancetherapper and our entire team- We sincerely regret to have to cancel our 2nd weekend at coachella. -CTR MGMT”

“Chance fell ill on Friday night & was admitted to the hospital today- Doctors & family are with him & he is expected to make a full recovery”

Last weekend, Chance surprised Coachella concertgoers with a surprise Justin Bieber performance.
