Chicago’s Chance The Rapper has dished out some details on his upcoming Chance 3 mixtape and promised it would live up to the hype.

In Chance’s perspective, the new release will have an edge on last year’s Surf album.

With the acclaim Surf received in 2015—and Chance’s track record in general—expectations are high for what comes next, and it sounds like he’s ready to deliver his best material yet. “This stuff is way better than Surf. I’ll say that on record,” Chance declares in his new Complex cover story. “Donnie [Trumpet] is awesome, and the project was awesome, but this is all of us focusing our efforts into some very hip-hop and very dance-y sh*t, and it feels good. So I’m excited about that.” (Complex)

A few days ago, the Chicago rapper spoke out on being hospitalized earlier this week.

Buzz about Chance’s health problems bubbled online Monday (May 9).

Chance The Rapper won’t be taking the stage as scheduled for a charity event Monday night (May 9) after being hospitalized, a source tells Billboard. The Chicago rapper was slated to perform at New York’s Terminal 5 for the “Night For NYC” event tonight, hosted by the Robin Hood organization to raise money in the fight against poverty. According to the event’s site, general admission for one costs $150 while deluxe admission runs at $250; 100 percent of every dollar would help “feed a family of four for one week.” (Billboard)

New York native Joey Bada$$ came through in the clutch to cover for Chance.
