Chicago’s Chance The Rapper looks like he’s ready for a Hollywood takeover. The hip-hop star flexed his acting and singing chops on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” broadcast.
During his appearance on its annual Christmas show Saturday (December 17) night, Chance appeared in a pair of funny af sketches.
His biggest part was rapping in a music video in the vein of the 1987 Run-DMC holiday classic “Christmas in Hollis.” In adidas track suit, black fedora and fat gold chain, Chance traded lines with Kenan Thompson about this Christmas being the last of the Obama presidency. Later, in a scene about bad comedians staging a jokey re-enactment of Christ’s birth, Chance popped up as the actor playing all three wise men with the help of two lifesize puppets. The hip-hop standout also performed one of his big Coloring Book songs.
Chance the Rapper capped off his banner year by appearing as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live’s annual Christmas episode. Our 2016 Artist of the Year supported his Album of the Year contender, Coloring Book, by performing “Finish Line” with fellow Chicago MC Noname and “Same Drugs” with Francis and the Lights.
