New York rapper Cardi B is coming through for tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony but fans shouldn’t hold their breath if they’re expecting a major spectacle. New reports claim the hitmaker is slated to open the annual awards show.
According to reports, Cardi will appear at the event but isn’t expected to perform.
Sources connected to the production tell us Cardi will in fact open the VMAs Monday as has been announced, but she won’t be rockin’ the mic for MTV. We’re told she will either do a monologue or partake in some sort of skit instead. Many speculated the show would mark Cardi’s first musical performance since giving birth to baby Kulture … but it just ain’t happening. (TMZ)
A few days ago, Cardi confirmed her presence at the popular televised show.
Last week, Hot 97 radio veteran Funk Flex went off on Cardi B for allegedly low-key paying deejays to co-sign songs.
A few days ago, Cardi delivered up answers for her haters and even addressed the payola claims.
