New York rapper Cardi B a.k.a Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar is out here stunning the world with her beauty. The hip-hop star has landed on the cover of the new ELLE Magazine.

Cardi B’s ELLE Magazine Cover Is Stunning

On Tuesday, B hit up Instagram to show off the epic-looking issue. She also geeked out about making the cover for the first-time ever.

“My first Elle magazine cover! The fact that they love my labret piercing makes it my fav! Thank you @ninagarcia @elleusa” -Cardi B’s Instagram

ELLE also pulled through this week with some up-close looks at Cardi’s cover feature.

“Time to party with Cardi. Introducing our September 2020 cover star, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar aka the inimitable @iamcardib. Chances are you’ve heard (blasted, replayed, and then played again) #WAP, her hit new single with the @theestallion about, ahem, 💦😜. Or maybe you’ve caught her championing Medicare-for-all with @berniesanders in a nail salon. Now, in conversation with @marjon_carlos, the self-described “regular, degular, schmegular girl from the Bronx” opens up about her new music, marriage to #Offset, and why she wishes more male rappers were demanding justice for #BreonnaTaylor. See link in bio for full interview.” -ELLE’s Instagram

Cardi B’s ELLE Magazine cover is stunning.

“In recent weeks, @iamcardib has put out forceful statements about the wrongful death of #BreonnaTaylor, the 26 year-old Black EMT who was fatally shot by police in her home in Louisville, KY. The harrowing account reminded Cardi of when her own cousin was murdered: “I remember everybody waking up at 3 a.m. and driving all the way to New Jersey, to the hospital. And through all that driving, you’re crying and scared.” She’s enraged that the officers who murdered Taylor—Jon Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove—have not been arrested. “That is so insane to me,” she says. “What they did to her is really fucked up. What’s the excuse? Why is the cop not in jail? Wasn’t what he did a crime? It’s a crime! And no apology. Nothing. Unbelievable.” For the full interview—and ways to demand #justiceforbreonnataylor—see link in bio.”

“@iamcardib will tell you who she’s voting for, how rich she is, and bleach her body hair on camera, but there’s one topic she shies away from: “I don’t really like talking about love much,” she tells @marjon_carlos. “There’s always rumors about me and my husband, and I feel like people would rather start rumors because they want me to be heartbroken,” she says. “If you all are so curious to know about my relationship and blah, blah, blah, I’m going to put it in the f*ckin’ music, and you can buy it, too. I’m not going to give it to you all for free.” Link in bio for the full #Offset and #Cardi update.”

High-Key Details

On Monday, Cardi hit up Instagram to take all the heat for the Internet coming at her “WAP” guest cameo Kylie Jenner over her appearance. Instead of focusing on Kylie’s relationship to rap star Travis Scott or referencing her massive social media presence, B simply said she called up celebrity mom Kris Jenner to have her daughter pull through to give “WAP” diversity.

“Happy Birthday 🎊 and thank you @kyliejenner for being in my music video.I wanted different type of bad b*tches in my video.Black, white,Latin, mix we all have WAPS!OK …but thank you always @krisjenner you always a call away for me and you treat me and mines like fam.” -Cardi B’s Instagram

Cardi B defends Kylie Jenner and Rosalía in new “WAP” music video.

B also used her Instagram page to explain the decision to have singer Rosalía in the video.

“Muchaaasss Gracias @rosalia.vt for being in my music video .You are sooo sweet and on top.Your visuals creativity and music are just amazing.I can’t wait to work with you one day.Fun fact: Rosalia Hairstyle is representing bullfighter wardrobe. It represents her countries culture.I think that’s dope !!!” -Cardi B’s Instagram

Wait, There’s More

Over the past few days, social media has erupted on Cardi for giving Kylie such a massive look and overshadowing the talented Black women in her “WAP video.

Before You Go

Over the past few years, Kylie Jenner and her family have had publicized ties to associating themselves – and profiting – off of Black culture.

In 2014, Kylie Jenner posted a photo on Instagram of entrepreneur and woman of color Heather Sanders wearing blue hair. Months later, Jenner was both rocking blue hair extensions as well as selling them via a partnership with hair company, Bellami, according to Marie Claire magazine, which noted that Jenner did not acknowledge Sanders as her inspiration. Jenner has also been accused of using lip fillers, a procedure she admitted to in 2015, to change her lips to appear more like some Black women’s. (CNN)
