New York rap newcomer Cardi B can’t help but keeping making headlines. After turning up at yesterday’s Dominican Day Parade, the crooner decided to treat social media to her version of SZA’s “The Weekend.”
Cardi went to Instagram last night (August 13) and crooned it up for the world to see.
Hours prior, B made sure to turn up turn up at the annual New York City event.
This past weekend, B showed off the digital impact her new “Bodak Yellow” banger is having on all music genres.
Last week, a report surfaced about the massive success Cardi’s received courtesy of her “Bodak Yellow” hit.
The ascent makes “Bodak” the highest-charting hit by an unaccompanied female rapper (no other artists on the billing) since Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” burst to No. 2 in 2014. The tune leaps 13-6 on Streaming Songs (24.5 million U.S. streams in the week ending Aug. 3, according to Nielsen Music, up 56 percent), rises 35-20 on Digital Song Sales (22,000 sold according to Nielsen Music, up 39 percent) and nears Radio Songs (22 million in audience, up 54 percent).
