Cardi B Says Mark Her Words: “This Year Will Be Bigger + Better!”

New York rapper Cardi B is all about leveling up. The hip-hop superstar has promised to make sure 2019 outshines all of her success of last year.

The Bronx native went to Instagram this weekend to share some major motivational words and tease what’s to come over the next 9 months.

Yesterday, Cardi released a video statement defending a decision to trademark her signature “Okurrr” catchphrase.

“So you h*es is mad because I trademarked ‘Okurrr.’ Let me tell you something, every time I go to a corporate meeting, these folks be like, ‘Oh my God, can we just please hear you say ‘Okurrr’?’ Every time I go to a TV show, ‘Hey, hey, can you please teach me how to say ‘Okurrr’?’ … You think I ain’t gonna profit off this sh*t? B*tch white folks do it all the motherf*cking time. You’re gonna be mad at me because I want to get some motherf*cking money? Huh. Let me tell you something, while I’m still here, I’m gonna secure all the f*cking bags. Let me tell y’all a secret too, it’s 2019 b*tches, it’s a lot of ways to get rich. This week, buzz developed about Cardi going the legal route to trademark her signature expression.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Cardi, 26, made the major “money move” on March 11 for merchandising purposes. The New York rapper has plans to plaster the phrase on paper goods — such as cups and posters, according to The Blast. “Okurrr” will also be featured on a soon-to-be-released clothing like that features pants, shirts and hoodies. While the phrase only has three R’s, Cardi has also filed a trademark for a version with only 2 R’s, The Blast reported. (People)
