New York rapper Cardi B might really have Nicki Minaj feeling the pressure to step her game up. The hip-hop newcomer recently talked about collaborating with Nicki on their hit “Motorsport” single.
In a new overseas interview, Cardi dished on getting on the Migos-featured track and realizing Nicki had a different verse than what she initially heard.
“I spoke to her before, I saw her in person before,” Cardi said when asked if she’s “good” with Nicki Minaj with “Motorsport” out. “We spoke about things. I don’t like getting into detail because you know [how things can become]. Well, you know, when I heard the track, her verse wasn’t finished. Well, it was not the verse that is on right now. [Migos’] Quavo told me to get on the song, and I just felt it was a perfect opportunity for me to be on a track that’s big like them. Because there’s two big people – I just started in the game, so I know that if I get on this record, it’s gonna be crazy. Like, who doesn’t want it? So, it’s like, I’m gonna jump on it and I jumped on it.” (Capital Xtra)
Last month, Minaj wanted fans to put some respect on her “Motorsport” bars.
Every rap critic with my phone number hit me on the Motorsport verse. Didn’t get a chance to hit everyone back yet, but thank you.

After the song’s initial release, both Migos’ Offset and Cardi B boasted about its early success.
