New York rap newcomer Cardi B has Iggy Azalea‘s attention. The two female hip-hop stars have teased social media with a Twitter chat and co-signing of each other.
Last night, both Cardi and Iggy went to the social media giant to salute one another.
Last weekend, B showed off the digital impact her new “Bodak Yellow” banger is having on all music genres.
Earlier this month, a report surfaced about the massive success Cardi’s received courtesy of her “Bodak Yellow” hit.
The ascent makes “Bodak” the highest-charting hit by an unaccompanied female rapper (no other artists on the billing) since Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” burst to No. 2 in 2014. The tune leaps 13-6 on Streaming Songs (24.5 million U.S. streams in the week ending Aug. 3, according to Nielsen Music, up 56 percent), rises 35-20 on Digital Song Sales (22,000 sold according to Nielsen Music, up 39 percent) and nears Radio Songs (22 million in audience, up 54 percent). The overnight rap star kept busy last Sunday at the annual Dominican Day Parade event in New York City.
