Fans still curious to find out how Canibus and his notepad fell victim to battle rapper Dizaster last weekend now have their opportunity with a full high-definition video of their match now surfacing online.
Nearly an hour long in length, the footage shows pre-battle segments with artists discussing Canibus facing off against Dizaster.
Canibus VS Dizaster, went down on June 9th and will be known as the biggest rap battle of the modern era. This was a clash between two very respected and feared artists on a stage where a star’s presence and ability to rap with conviction will prove that these are the best of the best in an arena fit for only the most resilient and unique rappers. Canibus, known best for his gutsy shots at L.L. Cool J and other famous artists will attempt to dethrone the current battle rap juggernaut, Dizaster. There are few battlers that can show up in any venue and lock it down, gaining fans and haters at every event. This week, Canibus released a statement speaking on his defeat.
“Canibus HERE, Just got my stitches out today. Will be going to therapy once a week for my AC injury. First time I’ve had a separated shoulder but I am expecting a full recovery in time. Also continuing work on the Rip The Jacker 2 DVD. Will continue to keep you all updated as things happen,” he wrote. “Don’t really know what to say concerning all these blogs, parodies, and fake accounts posting apologies about god knows what but I am moving forward for my Rippers and Hip Hop as best as I can. Thank You for your good wishes and encouragement. Sometimes people need laughter and entertainment at the expense of others embarrassment but Hip Hop means so much to me I don’t care. Diz is the champ. Please be kind to one another and don’t forget we are all family in this Hip Hop Community whether we know it or not. Peace, Bis” (Statement)
A day prior, the rapper’s manager M-Eighty spoke on his client’s behalf following the post-battle hype.
“To sum up, it is unfortunate that Canibus lost the battle but the fact of the matter is Bis is not not built for that type of forum anymore,” he said. “We all know Bis is a lyrical monster and his entire catalogue of tracks and albums is proof of that. Vendetta: Battle Royale was the first time since as far back as I can remember that Canibus has availed himself to an actual “battle” of this magnitude and guess what…he lost to a guy who is considered the ‘KOTD Champion’ and only writes battle raps specifically for this arena at an event held in his hometown. Obviously the odds were against us.” (Statement)
Partial footage of his notepad tactic started hitting websites and blogs over the weekend.
Last night following the game and the fight, you may have saw the name Canibus pop up on your timelines. No Twitter didn’t kill him… Known for his rhyme structure battle rap format, Canibus headed into a PPV battle with Dizaster. The rapper proceeded to pull out his pen and pad during his round and aimed the words on his loose-leaf paper at Dizaster. (The Source)
