Talking to media personality Miss Info, Cam admitted he had new ventures in mind.

Info: Are you really going to retire from rap?
Cam: Yeah. It’s a wrap. Time to move on.

*pours out a little sizzurp*

Info: Well, you made yourself a legend, and the music will last forever. So what will you focus on next?
Cam: Thanks, Min. Movies and clothing are doing really well for me right now. I’m helping Mendeecees [Yandy’s husband from Love and Hip Hop NY] with his album. And…I’m building a club in Vegas. (Miss Info TV)

Cam made his retirement announcement on Instagram Wednesday (December 10).

Recently, Killa Came said an emphasis on dropping his monthly First of the Month projects had kept his joint First Reserve joint effort temporarily shelved.

“It’s good, man. I’ve been running around. I got this project called First of the Month that drops every month. You guys at Complex know about that. Me and A-Trak had finished most of the EP a minute ago, so it’s already done. It’s just about letting these First of the Month EPs finish out and for A-Trak to get back from his tour.” (Complex)

Cam also talked about recently linking with Diplomats Jim Jones and Hell Rell for some collaborations.

“Well, Hell Rell is on another track and Jim too. Not on another together, but they’re on the next couple First of the Months. Then, Jim has an EP coming out soon that I’m on. We’re all working. Maybe top of the year we might sit down and put something together as a group. But everybody is in a good space.” (Complex)

  1. good move! love the history. but the bars have been getting progressively weaker and weaker with time.
Anyone in denial of this is nothing short of a dickriding obsessed stan.
No more reunion talk either. Dips is over for.
All due respect to the classics they left behind.

    • You gotta respect that too! Cam understood that every rapper’s reign will eventually come to an end and he prepared for it! If only other rappers followed his footsteps!

    • Plenty of artist that can use a co-sign to step into the light. Too many older artist guarding the gates for new acts to enter.

      • Don’t need a co sign when you are “doing you” French Montana is doing him and now he’s hot. By artist is stuck in the past and too busy trying to run ny only instead of the industry

        • Yes you do need a co-sign, doing you is good and all but if you can’t get a few doors open by other vets you will be another good artist in the shadows.

          • Co signs should come after the artist prove themselves. Come on man, I only put a good for someone that I know is a good employee at work in the past

  2. Hope he saved some of the 2 mill he sold juelz contract to def jam for. Dan never really liked his music. That come home with me track was the illest. ‘Many nights I done slept with a heifer And the beef came and left on a stretcher’

  3. The only good thing I have noticed from this dude in the last decade or so is his cute girlfriend. Don’t remember the last song from him I heard after “Horse and Carriage”. And that was a century ago…

      • Lol…What movement? Okay I’ll give them credit for faded novelty T shirts and tight jeans with chain wallets.

        • Lol Im speaking for Chicago when I say this. At their peak, I got sick of listening to Dipset out here! Chicago love Dipset!

        • Really? If it wasnt for dipset Lil Wayne wouldnt have no swag, they took him under their wing and made him start dressing like a rocker lol…seriously, dipset movement from 02-06 was spot on a hard movement, mirrored g-unit by far, whether u like it or not

      • For real. SDE, Come Home with Me, Purple Haze. All classic albums. Diplomatic Immunity and countless Diplomat mixtapes. Where were u?

      • I mean him as a solo artist. I don’t know, maybe my eyes were too concentrated on his girl. lol

        • Whther u liked his bars or not, 02-06 flea was killing shit, before his bitch was known

  4. Big fan of Cam but dudes do need to know when to quit rappin. Haven’t bumped anything new from him since like ’07. jay shoulda stayed retired and Snoop shoulda put down the mic a while ago.

  5. Why are people buying this? This is a publicity stunt. When an athlete retires, he can’t randomly join a team and say I’ll play 2 games. Cam will release other albums no doubt. These rappers are way addicted to fame. Why do you think Jay Z still raps and goes on tour? The money is a very small part of it. He, like other entertainers, just loves the attention he gets from being in front of a crowd. The same thing is true for someone like Snoop. Snoop doesn’t sell albums anymore and he’s still out there acting like a joke just for attention.
