The concept of “Flex On ‘Em,” that was really me working with producer Lil Bit. He shot me some beats and I liked them.
It was just that new sound. It was that West Coast sound. It was like that ratchet feel. Shout-out to my girl, Kay Kay, who was on “Hot Box,” was telling me I needed to do a ratchet song. She was saying I needed to do a West Coast sound, that ratchet sound.
I was like, “Alright! Let’s do that!” Sure enough this guy Lil Bit sent me the record and that’s what happened.
That’s what happened. It’s me flexing on them. It’s everyday life and talking about my lifestyle. It’s celebrating life and our accomplishments and things in the future that are going to be happening.
That’s how that song came about. It’s definitely my single. It’s creating a little buzz right now.
The music video was live. The atmosphere was live. The energy was live. Everything was live. I can’t complain. I had a lot of fun shooting that video. Shout-out to John Felix for directing that video. It was definitely live. We had a lot of fun.
