Former Death Row Records owner Marion "Suge" Knight is reportedly in a California hospital after being shot multiple times at popular late night club 1OAK.
According to reports, the shooting went down around 1:30 AM Sunday (August 24) morning.
A source close to Suge tells us … he was shot in the stomach and arm. Tyson Beckford, Robert Ri’chard and Apple de Ap all tell TMZ … they were inside the pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown when they heard 4 shots ring out inside the club. Suge walked out on his own power … a cop spotted him and walked the rap mogul to the police car where Suge sat. Suge was then put in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital. (TMZ)
Knight is reportedly one of multiple civilians who suffered gunshot wounds.
We do not know the seriousness of Suge’s injuries. Multiple sources now tell us Suge was one of 3 people were were shot. At least 1 is in critical condition. Sheriff’s deputies had guns drawn as clubgoers exited with their hands in the air right after the shooting. The night started with tension. An hour-and-a-half before the shots, Game came to the club and he and his buddies got into an altercation with security guards … there was a full-on fight. (TMZ)
Despite having his music contract blasted by Knight, rap star Game recently downplayed their situation and acknowledged the entertainment mogul’s veteran knowledge.
“Suge is an OG, he know a lot of stuff. He got inside connections,” Game said when approached by paparazzi. “You never know what Suge know. He might be right. He might be wrong. But he know some sh*t.” (TMZ)
Although on good terms with Knight, Game admitted Suge may have went too far by publicly discussing his contract on television a few months ago.
“He was saying, something I think about me and Kendrick’s contracts not being right,” Game said in an interview with Tim Westwood. “Suge is normally the homie but discussing other people’s business all on TV? It is what it is. Number one, no new artist comes in and gets the deal of a lifetime. Nah. Especially artists these days. When I came in, I met somebody, I signed to them because they had faith they could take me to Dre and then I got with Dre and Dre put me with 50. So it was what it was.” (“Tim Westwood TV”)
