The rap game is in shock right now. New York rapper Cardi B has reportedly been indicted on multiple criminal charges related to a publicized August 2018 brawl with two women.
According to reports, a grand jury indicted Cardi on nearly 20 charges.
The grand jury has indicted Cardi on 14 charges, including 2 counts of felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury. Other charges include misdemeanor reckless endangerment, assault, criminal solicitation, conspiracy and harassment. She was initially charged with 2 misdemeanors … assault and reckless endangerment, but that’s all superseded by the grand jury indictment. (TMZ)
The legal crunch dates back to when Cardi found herself in handcuffs last fall.
TMZ broke the story …Cardi was arrested in October for allegedly ordering an attack on 2 strip club bartenders — Jade and Baddie G. The 2 women claim they were injured during the brawl when Cardi’s people began throwing bottles and chairs. The incident, which went down in August, was allegedly triggered after Cardi accused Jade of sleeping with Offset. (TMZ)
Prior to the alleged incident, Cardi had confronted the two victims in Atlanta.
Born Belcalis Almanzar, and a former stripper herself, Cardi B was at the club in College Point because her husband Offset was performing with his hip hop trio Migos, according to police. She and her entourage got into an argument around 3 a.m. that Saturday with two sisters who were bartending, according to a source directly connected to the two alleged victims. Cardi B apparently suspected one of the sisters was having an affair with Offset, and had confronted the women, ages 21 and 23, in Atlanta on June 29, the sources said. (NBC News)
The central piece in the drama centers on cheating allegations between one of the victims and Cardi’s husband Offset.
The rapper’s legal troubles stem from accusations made by Jade and Baddie Gi, two two sisters who bartended at Angels Strip Club. The sisters claim that Cardi B incited her entourage to throw chairs and bottles at them. Sources told TMZ the incident was prompted by rumors that Jade had an affair with Cardi B’s husband, Offset from Migos. A source told NBC New York that surveillance video exists of Cardi B picking up an ice bucket and throwing it at the sisters. (SPIN)
