According to reports, the movie was out-performed by action thriller The Expendables and two other flicks.

Lionsgate’s “The Expendables” remained No. 1 for a second straight weekend with $16.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. Directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone, the action romp about mercenaries aiming to overthrow a dictator raised its total to $64.9 million. “Vampires Suck” was in a photo finish for the No. 2 spot with another holdover, Julia Roberts‘ drama “Eat Pray Love.” The Sony film about a divorced woman traveling the world in search of fulfillment pulled in $12 million to lift its total to $47.1 million. Despite its competition, Lottery Ticket still managed to land within the Top 5.

“Lottery Ticket,” the Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. comedy about the perils of winning a huge jackpot starring rapper Bow Wow, came in fourth with $11.1 million. “The Other Guys,” Sony’s police comedy starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, was fifth in its third weekend of release, grossing $10.1 million. In a recent interview, the film’s star, Bow Wow, said rapper Nicki Minaj nearly earned a role in the film.

“To be honest, Nicki was close to being [the character] ‘Nikki’ in the movie. I called Nicki and said, ‘Yo, I think you should audition for this role.’ “Unfortunately, Bow’s bid to get Minaj some screen time was unsuccessful: The part eventually went to R&B vixen Teairra Mari. “I thought [Minaj] did good, but unfortunately you know how things don’t work out.” (MTV)

Keeping the cameras rolling, Bow Wow has already signed on to star in the upcoming Madea’s Big Happy Family film.

Bow Wow landed the lead role in the upcoming comedy Lottery Ticket and now is confirmed to star in Tyler Perry‘s Madea’s Big Happy Family. Movie centers on the life of Miss Shirley, a single mother, who has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. With the help of Madea, she assembles her grown children (one being Bow Wow) for one final reunion. Big Happy Family is set for an April 22, 2011 release date. (WoooHa)
