In Greenberg’s perspective, the government is out to take down hip-hop.

“Let me give you some context. The government hates rap and the government hates rappers. They target these guys and construct a narrative around them and then they rationalize the narrative in order to get an indictment. I had said previously, it’s a bunch of bullsh*t. What they do is they recruit guiltless, loveless people who are truthless that are jealous of brothers on the way up and they get them to implicate them.” (XXL Mag)

A press conference and arraignment took place Thursday (December 18).

The press conference for Bobby Shmurda and GS9′s indictment happened at 3:30 p.m., held by Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan. Shmurda pled not guilty to currently-unspecified weapons and drug charges. Darla Miles of Eyewitness News on Channel 7 WABC-TV states that the bail is set at $2 million and that Shmurda’s label Epic Records will post the bail. (XXL Mag)

Pictures of the guns had also sprouted online.

Footage from the arrest landed across the Internet Wednesday (December 17) evening.

Wondering Sound got a quote from the “director of public information in the office of the city’s special narcotics prosecutor” on the incident. Although she didn’t get into the specifics of the charges, she said “These arrests were the result of a long-term investigation. My office has a sealed indictment against a number of individuals. The investigation did involve a number of violent incidents as well as narcotics trafficking.” Secondly, video of Rowdy Rebel being led away in handcuffs outside of the studio has surfaced. (HNHH)
