Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda has updated fans on his well-being following recent news of his publicized weapons case being pushed back to the spring.

According to Shmurda, he believes there is a strong chance he will beat his case if granted a long-awaited $2 million bail.

“They ain’t trying to give me the deal because they know if I come home, I’ma beat this, so right now, they trying to hold me in here as long as possible. So, they’re trying to hold me in for like 3 or 4 years. And then try to give me time served or something but they don’t nothing on me. I’m not even supposed to still be here. I got several lawyers maintaining my case that’s saying that the bail is supposed to be dropped and these charges are supposed to be dropped. The bail is not even supposed to be high due to the Emory Law Book. But they violating my constitutional rights. They violating my civil rights that they are just flushing it down the toilet for they own political reasons.” (This Is 50)

Bobby recently had his case delayed through May 11 after appearing in court.

The change in date was confirmed to XXL by Kati Cornell, New York’s Director of Public Information at the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor. Judge Abraham Clott, who is presiding over the case, has decided to try all of the defendants separately, which was the previous judge’s plan until he left in January (Shmurda was arrested along with several affiliates of his GS9 crew on December 17 2014) (The FADER)

Last month, Shmurda’s legal team received a tough break during a court appearance.

Bobby Shmurda was denied bail today by New York City judge Abraham Clott. Judge Clott told the court that he sees “no substantive change” in Shmurda and is “satisfied that the case is extraordinarily serious.” Shmurda’s attorney Alex Spiro told The FADER that the rapper and his family are “frustrated” and have been raising questions regarding why he isn’t being helped. Buzz about the New York native possibly being released on bail surfaced in early December.

Bobby Shmurda finally has a slight glimmer of hope — his legal team has a plan to spring the rapper from jail as early as Thursday. Sources close to the case tell TMZ … Shmurda’s family has stepped forward to offer up collateral for his $2 million bond. Most notably, Bobby’s aunt has put several properties on the line to help set the rapper free. We’re told the family has been working closely with NY bondsman Ira Judelson. (TMZ)
