It’s A NO For Us!

Award shows come with mixed fan reactions every year. This year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards was no exception, as many fans were not happy about several things.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards is one of the biggest nights in rap, but many viewers were not impressed by what they saw.

One of the topics Black Twitter was not pleased with was City Girls’ Yung Miami’s Caresha Please tying with rapper Noreaga &  DJ EFN’s podcast Drink Champs, which has been airing since 2016, for best hip-hop platform.

Some Twitter users felt Yung Miami’s man, Diddy, paid off BET to get her an award.

Fans felt other nominees, such as The Breakfast Club, Complex, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, and Versuz, deserve the award over the relatively new Caresha, Please

Diddy’s son, Christian “King” Combs, was also not received well as viewers criticized him for not having an original sound.

They said they believe King Combs tries too hard to sound or act like his father when he was in his 90s Bad Boy era, instead of having his own identity

Older fans of rap were not moved by the new generation of rappers, even though they were the stars of the show.

Some feel the cyphers are not up to par with those from the past, and new rappers do not have much of a stage presence.

Big Name Rappers Snubbed In BET Hip-Hop Awards Nominations

Some very popular rappers received little to no nominations for the 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Nicki Minaj was not nominated even though she had her first solo number one hit with “Super Freaky Girl” along with a visual

Atlanta rapper Lil Baby also did not receive a nomination, even though he had hit songs with Nicki as well as being featured on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy for “Girls Want Girls.”

Fellow Atlanta rapper Gunna had everybody yelling “Pushing P” before he got locked up, but he did not receive a nomination.
