Bill Cosby’s Problems Far From Over, Judge Green Lights Sexual Assault Trial

Written By Cyrus Langhorne

Hollywood legend Bill Cosby is going to have to grab his suit and tie as a Pennsylvania judge has decided not to dismiss a sexual assault case this week.

According to reports, a two-day hearing has resulted in a judge green lighting the case to move forward.

The actor’s lawyers claimed that the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office made a no-prosecution deal a decade ago that is still in force, but the current DA argued it wasn’t a binding agreement. After a two-day hearing, the judge decided not to toss out a charge of aggravated indecent assault against the 78-year-old comedian, setting the stage for a trial. (NBC News)

Reports claim the alleged attack went down over 10 years ago at Mr. Cosby’s home.

The case, in which former Temple University employee Andrea Constand accuses the TV star of assaulting her in his home in 2004, will go forward. Cosby, who has not entered a plea, was charged December 30 with aggravated indecent assault against Constand, who went to authorities in 2005. Bruce Castor, the Montgomery County district attorney at the time, did not file sexual assault charges against Cosby, citing “insufficient credible and admissible evidence.” (CNN)

Reports this week claimed alleged Cosby victim Chloe Goins would no longer pursue action against the famed actor.

Chloe Goins, the former model who alleged Bill Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her at a Playboy Mansion party in 2008 has abandoned her civil lawsuit against the comedian, PEOPLE confirms. About a month ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office declined to file criminal charges in the case. (EW)

Recently, Goins released a diss song aimed at Mr. Cosby.

The L.A. County D.A. rejected Chloe Goins’ case last week, saying Cosby had an alibi, plus the statute of limitations had run out. An angry Goins decided to fire back at Cos by getting in the studio with a producer in Southern Cal … according to the Daily Mail. “Bill Cosby: Diss Record” starts off … “Hey Bill, I guess you think you’re pretty slick. Making sure you drugged us, thinking that we would forget ya. But we didn’t, and now everybody knows.” (TMZ)
