[With his new “That’s Hip Hop…Featuring Joell Ortiz” now available, Slaughterhouse’s Joell Ortiz talks to SOHH about the trend in hip-hop artists releasing joint efforts.]
It’s just different. It’s not that it’s more special, it’s just different, pride-wise. You’re back in there with your guy, your guy has some ideas and you have ideas that inspire him and some sessions start off like, “What are you eating? What happened last night? Oh you went out? What happened? Ah!”
It’s just more of a vibe thing.
And then even down the line when it comes to business like having to track down producers and figuring out splits, that can be a little bit drawn out. When you’re working with one producer, it’s all in front of you.
The business is easy, the process is easy and it all flows really well.
