G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean is the latest hip-hop artist to step forward and donate money to water crisis efforts in his Michigan home state.
According to reports, Sean has personally donated $10,000 to help address the water crisis.
The rapper, who hails from Detroit, has made a personal donation of $10,000 after partnering with CrowdRise to launch #HealFlintKids, a campaign that helps families with kids who have been exposed to toxic water. Sean and and his non-profit, the Sean Anderson Foundation have contributed to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund as a part of a viral fundraiser for the Community Foundation of Greater Flint Michigan. Flint’s Mayor Karen Weaver spoke out on celebrities like rapper Meek Mill making donations for the water crisis efforts this week.
“Yes, I sure would,” when asked if she would like to see other artists outside of Meek Mill donating to the water crisis efforts. “It’s wonderful to have that kind of support and getting him involved. I appreciate that. I would like [Michigan native celebrities] as well. You know it would be well appreciated – thank-you so much [Meek Mill]. I sure would like the opportunity to thank him and talk to him. Thank-you so much. I appreciate it, the residents of the city of Flint love you for that. [Am I waiting for Eminem next?] That’s right. Eminem, Kid Rock, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker. [laughs]” (TMZ)
According to reports, Meek has 60,000 bottles of water going to a Michigan food bank.
Meek just donated to the Flint Child and Family Health Development Fund, which fights the adverse effects of ingesting lead-filled H20. He’s also sending 60k bottles of JUST Water to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Our sources say Meek’s also been clocking hours doing motivational speeches and helping out at schools, homeless shelters and hospitals in his native Philly. (TMZ)

Sean “Big Sean” Michael Leonard Anderson could give away $millions$ , though that will not change the fact Sean and many of his rap recording artists buddies are chiefly responsible for perpetuating the struggles and hardships of their neighbors when they IGNORE the reason why so many of our American neighbors are struggling with pain and hardships….instead Sean chooses to glorify and profit from the pain and struggles of our neighbors.

Sean “Big Sean” Michael Leonard Anderson is an artist who makes music. Tell me something, if it was Denzel Washington making the donation, would it make a difference? You people and your ridiculous way at looking at things…. You’re comparing a guy who makes music to Al Capone? GTFOH. You need to learn how to separate artistry from reality; they are two completely different things. I could say “a bitch sucked 100 dicks” on a song or in a movie and then go home to my wife and kids… what exactly would that mean in reality?
