The rap star’s new album clocked in 44,000 units in its first week on store shelves.

Rapper Big K.R.I.T. logs his best sales week yet, as Cadillactica drives in at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 44,000. It also starts at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Rap Albums. The artist’s previous best week came when Live From the Underground debuted and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 41,000. (Billboard)

Check out what K.R.I.T. said about his first-week projections right here…

Despite being undershipped, K.R.I.T. told fans on social media he believed his sophomore studio release could sell 50,000 copies last week.

Based on one-day estimates, K.R.I.T.’s new album was expected to sell up to 45,000 units.

YOUR TOP 15: Taylor Swift will remain on top for at least one more week, after which she’ll be unseated, even if temporarily, by One Direction. We get the distinct impression, however, that this won’t be the last time our Tay is #1 this year. Here’s how it looks headed into the weekend.

Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 300-325k
*Foo Fighters (Roswell/RCA) 185-200k
*Pink Floyd (Columbia) 155-170k
*Garth Brooks (Pearl/RCA Nashville) 120-130k
*Big K.R.I.T. (Def Jam) 40-45k (HITS Daily Double)

Earlier this month, BK released his “Cadillactica” music video.

Just days before his album drops, Big K.R.I.T. blasts into outer space in the futuristic video for “Cadillactica,” the title track off his sophomore album. The Mississippi MC rides through the galaxy in an old school ‘Lac in the slick visuals, directed by Matt Swinsky. (Rap-Up)

    • Yeah man but it makes me feel better knowing he sold about what french Montana sold without any big radio singles.

  1. I miss the 90s. 44,000 copies meant you were out of the rap game. Now it’s considered average.

    • so is that a compliment to KRIT or you think he should be done with? what about the garbage out there that actually sells its crazy

  2. Krit has the best album I’ve heard since live from the underground the man has talent. He is the reincarnated The Honorable Pimp C. His album sales would be 1,000,000 if it was like some of this other hot garbage that’s out there, but his album is classic , way to go Krit

    • It ain’t even been out long yet, plus it ain’t bring nothing new to the game so how is it classic? Why the shit can’t just be good and stand on Its own? Why when people like something and the numbers aren’t that good they bring others which they don’t like in the equation? If the album is great as his fans feel it is just mention It’s good points and fuck all the other shit that’s out yell

      • It’s how the fuck I feel about the album I’m not Makin money off the muthafucka and u aint either, it’s how I feel about it, like I said it’s classic to me I know real shit when I hear it

        • cadillactica was classic before it dropped.

you heard ‘Grippin on the Wood’? big krit and pimp c

  3. a decade ago big krit would of been at least a gold artist . . these yungins just dont appreciate real talent/music.

  4. Of course it did because it sucks. Only in the echo chamber of Hipster fags is KRIT worth mentioning – clearly your opinion is not backed up by your wallets – if 1% of you KRIT dickriders supported his average music – he’d have sold Swift #’s. It doesn’t sell – because it’s not that great – get over it.

    • you dont have to be labeled a dick rider to enjoy what most DONT enjoy. even if you use common core math it would take more than 1 % of his fans for him to do Swift numbers. hes been doing this for quite some time so obviously numbers dont factor into his craft! you have to be honest, have you listened to any of his music to really think its that bad?

      • Nah, I loved his 1st two projects, I had high hopes – I invested my time – he let me down and new people hop on the train late, parroting what people w/ taste used to say before he flamed out. I just hate that shit.

        • i can understand that. still its better than alot thats out there now. maybe the label situation stirred him a little bit. but hes nice. i give him another chance and will wait wait on a mixtape!!!!
