Grammy-winning singer Beyonce has finally confronted the media and its attempts ways to generate buzz by falsifying her pregnancies over the past few years.
As a result of frequently being targeted, Beyonce said she has grown accustomed to being the run of the rumor mill.
“At this point, they say that I’ve been pregnant like eight times, so I am kind of used to it,” the 29-year-old singer said in an interview with The Associated Press. “I just hope that one day when I decide to be pregnant that people are happy for me. … One day hopefully I will be. It’s part of being a celebrity, I guess.” (Billboard)
Despite Beyonce’s playful attitude, her husband/rapper Jay-Z recently said he has grown tired of the media’s sensationalism.
Jay-Z has one (final) word (for now) on wife Beyoncé’s possible pregnancy: No. “I really sit back and wonder when people are going to stop,” he said on Howard Stern‘s radio show Monday, when asked about the rumors by the show’s co-host Robin Quivers. “The day that happens, I don’t think Newsday is going to know before my grandmother.” The rapper, who is notorious for keeping mum on his personal life, added, “Everyone knows I’m married, I just don’t discuss it because it’s a part of my life that I’d rather keep private.” (CNN)
Last month, Jay also denied speculation that his wife was carrying their first child.
The “Empire State of Mind” rapper told The Daily Telegraph that there is “no truth” to the gossip that Bey is pregnant. People must really want Jay and Bey to reproduce because this rumor keeps popping up. “They do that every slow news day,” Jay said. “This is like the fifth time. I think we have five kids now.” (S2S Magazine)
Beyonce’s mother appeared on Ellen DeGeneres‘ daytime talk show last month to quiet the baby talk.
Beyonce’s mom Tina Knowles just blew the lid off the story that her daughter is pregnant — telling Ellen DeGeneres, the rumors are simply “not true.” Ellen’s interview will air tomorrow. (TMZ)
