One-hit hip-hop wonder Afroman is making headlines this week after attacking a female fan at a show last night (February 17) and then getting arrested.
Details of what went down during his Biloxi, Mississippi show surfaced late Tuesday.
The rapper was performing in Biloxi, Mississippi Tuesday night when the woman somehow got on stage and started dancing next to Afroman — and then suddenly, without warning … he turned and landed a right-handed haymaker to her face. He obliterated the woman … who went down hard — but Afroman kept on performing. Witnesses say she was bleeding and crying, but somehow she managed to get up on her own. Cops eventually stopped the show, escorted him off stage, and arrested him outside the venue. He was booked for assault. (TMZ)

Afroman’s rep has already come forward to speak out on the attack.
“This was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space,” his rep said in a prepared statement. “It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces.” His rep blamed a lack of security at the venue — something included on his rider — and noted Afroman often has trouble with fans coming onstage. Last October, Afroman released a remix to his “Because I Got High” song.
Where the original song found the rapper making a series of increasingly poor personal decisions because of weed, the “Because I Got High” Positive Remix above takes a more pragmatic approach, detailing the advantages of legalizing weed. “I had problems with glaucoma/But then I got high/Smelled the cannibis aroma/And I got high/Glaucoma getting better and I know why,” sings Afroman.
