It has recently been revealed that Nicki Minaj will indeed be featured on the Barbie live-action movie soundtrack along with Ice Spice, PinkPantheress, and more. The album Barbie: The Album will be released in July 2023 to coincide with the film's premiere.

Barbie: The Album: A Celebration of Female Artists

Nicki Minaj will join other talented female artists on the album, such as PinkPantheress, Ice Spice, Kali, Karol G, and Lizzo. The album promises to be a diverse and empowering collection of songs celebrating Barbie’s spirit and legacy. 

According to the promotional poster that read,  “More Barbies and Kens to be announced”– more featured artists for the soundtrack will likely be revealed as the film’s release draws closer. Barbie: The Album is expected to drop on July 21 officially.

Nicki Minaj: The Queen of Rap

The “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” rapper has also been busy working on her own music. She recently announced that her fifth studio album is in the works and teased a world tour shortly after. She also scored her first solo No. 1 with “Super Freaky Girl” in August 2022.

Nicki Minaj said that her new album will be “a masterpiece” and that she is “ready to slay the game.” She also hinted at possible collaborations with other artists but did not reveal names.

The Barbz eagerly await her new music and feature on the Barbie soundtrack as they have been campaigning for her involvement since the project was announced. One fan tweeted, “nicki and ice spice on the barbie soundtrack… once again get with the winning team hoe.”
Another Barb tweeted, “I’m crying y’all really thought they were about to do a Barbie soundtrack without THE Barbie? Lmao pls stop playing with Nicki Minaj.”

Upcoming Live-Action ‘Barbie’ Movie Misses Mark Without Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj will not make an appearance in the new live-action Barbie movie. The trailer released on April 4 didn’t include any signs of the Queen of rap. Her absence has left fans confused.

When the trailer for the new live-action film, Barbie, released on April 4, fans were confused when they realized rap superstar, Nicki Minaj, was not in the film.

One fan said  on Twitter said, “Like how are you gonna do a Barbie movie and not include Nicki Minaj?”

The “Super Freaky Girl” artist has built her brand around the popular doll, and even nicknamed her fanbase “The Barbz.”

In fact, the rapper has shouted out the doll in numerous songs like:

Barbie Dreams

“I’m just Playin’, But I’m Sayin’ (Barbie Dreams).”

Barbie Tingz

“Barbie Tingz, That’s Barbie Tingz.”

Roman Reloaded

“Ask Mattel, they auctioned my Barbie,  bitch.”

Itty Bitty Piggy

“Nicki the Ninja, Nicki the Boss, Nicki the Harajuku Barbie.”

Also the music video to her song  “Super Freaky Girl” was inspired by the Barbie Dreamhouse lifestyle. The video showed her in a pink house, driving a pink car, and with Ken beside her. 

In September 2022, after the announcement of the new flavors of Rap Snacks in partnership with The PinkPrint rapper. The three flavors listed “Barbie-Que,” “Salt and Vinegar,” and “Sour Cream and Ranch.”

According to Billboard, one of the flavors for the Rap Snacks was “Barbie-Que.” The toy company, Mattel, who created the Barbie doll, sued Rap Snacks for copyright infringement, which forced the snack brand to change from “Barbie-Que” to “Bar-B-Quin.”

Shortly after, the toy company asked the judge to dismiss the case after the snack food brand decided to pay a settlement to the popular toy company. 

In 2011, Mattel created one in honor of the Queen singer for charity. 

The doll sported vibrant pink hair, the rap mogul’s signature look. The dress the doll wore was made out of a light pink tulle material with diamonds and a Barbie chain. This marks the last time the Barbie brand has acknowledged the “Moment 4 Life” singer.
