[With a highly-anticipated Bad Boy Reunion tour going down this summer, 112’s Slim talks to SOHH about working with fellow alumni Carl Thomas for their new “Forever” collaboration.]

Working with Carl Thomas was amazing because he’s the one artist on Bad Boy that we [112] didn’t work with. As far as writing, yes, but not as far as duets.

And I was like, “Why?,” because he’s one of the most amazing voices. If anybody knows Carl Thomas, if you go to one of his shows, you know he’s probably going to sing the paint off the wall.

I said, “Man, you know what?” Once again, I need to find me a record that I know we can both fit on because when I listen to Carl Thomas’ voice, he reminds me of Sam Cooke.

He has like a Chicago edge to him. I said, “You know what? I’m going to get a record that’s going to be really, really fly,” so listening to Puff Daddy’s “No Way Out” when we were all on it, he did that record with B.I.G. and Too Short.

I knew the song needed some fly words with it and I picked out some tunes and Tank was instrumental in writing the record. We put it all together and there you go!
