According to “Bobby Ray,” Em was impressed by his underground material and wanted to become involved in the project.

“[His manager] Paul Rosenberg played him the Cloud 9 mixtape and it kind of gave him an idea of what my music,” B.o.B revealed in an interview. “Eventually he started playing Em more of my stuff and was keeping him updated on my progress and eventually he wanted to get in the studio with me, so that was a gift. It’s really reassuring to know that every artist has a way of working but it’s all … the essence of it all to get in that vibe and to get in that zone, and everybody has a different way to get in that zone…It’s good to see a different way, because you know, ‘OK, I can do this or I can do that.’ It kind of showed me where I was thinking inside of a box and where I can open up even more.” (MTV)

A tracklisting for the rapper’s first official solo project has been released online.

“Don’t Let Me Fall” “Nothin’ On You” (featuring Bruno Mars) – 4:30 “Past My Shades” (featuring Lupe Fiasco) “Airplanes” (featuring Hayley Williams) “Bet I” (featuring T.I. and Playboy Tre) – 4:14 “Satellite” “Ghost in the Machine” “The Kids” (featuring Janelle Monae) “Magic” (featuring Rivers Cuomo) “Fame” “Lovelier Than You” “5th Dimension” (featuring T.I. & Ricco Barrino) “Airplanes (Part II)” (featuring Eminem and Hayley Williams) (Team Supreme Music)

Last month, Bobby Ray talked about his project’s cover art.

“Basically, the concept of the album cover is, I’m gonna give enough but I’m gonna leave it open for interpretation,” B.o.B. explained promising to not take away from consumers’ imaginations. “Of course I incorporated the four elements, earth, wind, fire and water, and it’s an adventure. So I’m basically traveling through these elements during my adventure but even though, the elements are dangerous in themselves, but I still use it to my advantage, going through these elements. [The album] is done, finished. I’m done, it’s like my homework’s done…Lupe [Fiasco] is on it, T.I. is on it, I got a lot of outside production on it.” (The Hip Hop Chronicle)

B.o.B. recently discussed his solo project moving from a May to April release date.

“‘Fifth Dimension,’ T.I. actually produced it, him and Lil C produced it from Grand Hustle so we got in the studio just playing around with some drums, loops and guitars and some asteroids and we made up ‘Fifth Dimension,’ and it’s gonna, it’s a banger,” B.o.B. promised in an interview. “[My album,] it’s definitely scheduled to come out April 27th, it was May 25th but [The Adventures of Bobby Ray] got pushed forward, which never happens, ever, I don’t even recall that happening and if it does change, it’ll only move forward again.” (XXL Magazine)
