Rather than place blame on anyone else, B.G. opened up on his wrongdoing.

“I mean, everything is everything. I got 14 years, I got 11 off that, I’ve been gone for 15 months so that puts me at 10, 11 — I’m a convicted felon and I shouldn’t have had a firearm. I had a firearm on me and I can’t take that back,” B.G. said in an interview. “I took my licks and I got to do my bid. It is what it is. At the end of the day, you have to live with the decisions you make as a man. I made my bed and I’ve got to lay in it. You know how the feds operate. If you don’t want to give them nothing, they may be extra harsh on you.” (Q93)

Earlier this month, the New Orleans-bred rapper looked at the bright side of his hefty bid.

Now, B.G. released a statement through his rep Tracey Smith … saying, “I am relieved I found out what my fate was yesterday because I was facing 30 years and my case kept getting pushed back.” The 31-year-old adds, “I am just ready to get my sentence started because it’s not RIP BG it’s FREE BG … I feel happy and blessed that I will still be a young man and still be able to see daylight because I am someone, a dad, a brother and a son.” B.G. says he expects his career to continue to thrive while he’s locked up … noting, ” will have upcoming music that will be released while I am away.” (TMZ)

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz credited B.G. for influencing the New Orleans music scene after learning of his fate.

“BG wus very intricate in the NEW ORLEANS music movement! One luv ,,,I pray for an appeal” (2 Chainz’s Twitter)

Reports of the ex-Cash Money Records artist’s bid emerged around mid-July.

A New Orleans rapper who pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm and conspiring to obstruct justice has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. Christopher Dorsey, known as “BG,” also was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Helen Berrigan to three years of supervised release following his prison term. The 28-year-old pleaded guilty in December to being a felon in possession of a firearm in 2009. Prosecutors say Dorsey had three felony drug convictions between 1998 and 2003. (SF Gate)
