New York rapper Azealia Banks has shared her thoughts on actress Stacey Dash letting loose on the perception of unfair treatment in Hollywood toward African Americans and the need to cut loose programs like BET.
In Banks’ opinion, BET is not as authentic as the network makes itself out to be.
Following Stacey’s remarks, hip-hop artists Bow Wow and Bun B spoke out via social media.
The BET network also joined in on the viral responses by addressing Stacey on Instagram.
In a new Fox News segment, Stacey went to the extreme by saying pro-black awards shows like the BET Awards should be eliminated.
“I think it’s ludicrous. We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration and if we don’t want segregation then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards we’re you’re only rewarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms, it’s a double standard – there shouldn’t be a Black History Month. We’re Americans. Period.” (Fox News)
