Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War is going to do monster numbers when it arrives in theaters next month. Early pre-sales have already made the must-see superhero movie the top-selling movie in the genre.

In just a few hours on Friday, the upcoming Avengers movie broke an advance tickets sales record on Fandango.

Avengers: Infinity War has already broken advance ticket sales records on Fandango becoming the best-selling superhero movie ever — and it only took six hours. At this point in time, Avengers: Infinity War is outstripping the first day 24-hour ticket sales of both Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Fandango’s previous superhero first day advance-ticket seller, and Black Panther. (Deadline)

A Fandango representative has already weighed-in on why the new Avengers movie has toppled all competition on pre-sales.

“People have been waiting for the entire Marvel Universe to appear onscreen for a long time,” says Erik Davis, Fandango’s managing editor. “Fans love these combinations of heroes; seeing Guardians of the Galaxy characters interacting with Thor for the first time is going to be really interesting.” (USA Today)

Yesterday, Marvel Studios released the latest trailer for Infinity War.

The continued success of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is largely believed to have helped build anticipation for Infinity War.

What’s also interesting is that the success of Black Panther is helping create buzz for Avengers: Infinity War. 71% of those surveyed said that have seen Black Panther on the big screen, while 60% said that Black Panther “made them even more excited to see Avengers: Infinity War”. For those who haven’t already purchased their tickets yet, the Fandango FanShop is giving away a free Avengers poster, designed by artist Kaz Oomori, with every Fandango VIP ticket purchase. Fans can choose one of five posters, which will feature MCU heroes such as Black Panther, Okoye, Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Hulk, Black Widow and the Guardians of the Galaxy, to name just a few.
