While keeping details discreet, Bieber revealed his contribution to Ash’s long-awaited LP.

“did a lil something on the upcoming @chrisbrown mixtape.. Ladies love me. then we got crazy on the @asherroth album. #shawtymane,” Biebs tweeted August 2nd. (Justin Bieber’s Twitter)

In June, Roth talked about babysitting Biebs as a kid and how much of a real hip-hop head he is.

“Bieber is my guy, like, I think people really think I’m joking or I’m lying when I say we legitimately used to babysit him,” Roth revealed in an interview. “Not on some young kid stuff but we would look out for him and look after him. When I was in Atlanta, I had moved to Atlanta, Bieber moves down the street from me and he was like 12, 13 at the time. We used to just come over and hang out. We used to play Rock Band and chill. I have Bieber rapping on the [2008 Greenhouse Effect mixtape] ‘Cannon’ [song]. … You cannot not be happy for an over successful fun loving good kid. He’s a really, really awesome dude…He’s a hip-hop head, he really is — he loves it. I might have to ghostwrite for him but other than that, he’s a good dude. I’m really excited to see what he does in the future.” (XXL Mag)

Last fall, Roth opened up about not rushing his new album.

“We haven’t really got there yet. Not yet. Game got on ‘Splish Splash’ because he was just there in the studio. I think it’s great to make the music and then figure out who would sound good on what. Robin Thicke did get on one though, but we’ll see if it’ll stick around. I just linked up with Cannon and I still want will.i.am to come holla at me because I want to talk some ‘Joints and Jams’ type sh*t. He’s super talented. It really just comes down if they want to do it or not at this point. I don’t have big money. I mean wish I could say lets get in the studio for a million dollars but it’s just not like that.” (VIBE)

Months ago, the rapper talked about linking up with producer Pharrell Williams for his solo effort.

“We linked up in Miami,” he explained in an interview. “Very good chemistry as far as creating music. We was down there while it was all snowy in New York. We had a blast. I think we have some really beautiful music for warm weather. He really is a genius. Working with him, it’s really fast. We wound up doing 12 records in 12 days, which is really good numbers. It’s quick. He gets an idea and he harnesses that idea really quick. It’s cool when someone like me gets to step into the studio with him. I feel it’s probably different vibes…We wrote 12 different records. We didn’t try to write one record 12 times — we have stuff all over the map, from live drums that are going to incorporate itself well into a live show…I’m excited for you guys to hear that stuff.” (MTV)

An official release date has not yet been announced.
