While she could not pencil in a date for when they would drop new tunes, Ashanti acknowledged their in-studio chemistry.

“Yes, I have. I spoke to him the other day and I’m super, super excited for him,” Ashanti said in an interview when asked if she had talked to Rule since he came home from serving jail time. “He is, he is in great spirits. [Muscles?] Oh my gosh, I told him, ‘What were you doing in there?’ … He has a studio downstairs in the house, that’s where he’s going to be all the time. … Hopefully we get it all popping. There’s no denying our chemistry. We might [get a collabo project]. He has to focus on his stuff right now.” (Hot 97)

Back in March, the R&B singer said fans could expect to hear them go back to their old ways once he finished up his jail bid.

“You know what,” Ashanti told a caller during an interview when asked if she would be doing anything with Ja Rule upon his upcoming release from jail. “Ja is actually going to be home in, I belive, late July. [The rumor of him getting released a few weeks ago,] yeah, it didn’t happen. I believe he will be out in late July and I know he’s fiending to get back into the studio. We are probably going to get down, you know what I mean, and do something. [laughs] Yeah. [We made a good combination], yes, definitely.” (“Sway In The Morning”)

Last summer, Ashanti finally reunited with Murder Inc. founder Irv Gotti for their “No One Greater” collaboration.

Just like old times, Ashanti is the R&B centerpiece alongside rap’s hottest names. For the latest single from her forthcoming album BraveHeart – her first in five years – the decorated songstress is paired with Bad Boy’s and Maybach Music’s tough guys, French Montana and Meek Mill, for “No One Greater”. This bass-knocking, synth-heavy number is produced by ‘Shanti’s former Murder Inc. boss, Irv Gotti, who is now apparently on good terms with the singer following their long-standing dispute. BraveHeart will be released sometime in 2013 – much later than the original August 28th date – via Ashanti’s own Written Entertainment imprint. (Soul Culture UK)

Prior to Irv and Ashanti’s reconciliation, Rule talked to SOHH and gave his take on their quiet dispute.

“I’ma say it like this, Irv is my brother and I respect his decisions,” Rule told SOHH. “I don’t have any problems with Ashanti. That’s my sister. We’re a family so it’s funny, it’s like my brother and my sister are fighting. You see what I’m saying? It’s a funny thing to me but Gotti is my brother before she was my sister so you take it how you take it. But me and Bon Bon are cool and I got love for her, that’s my sister man..I think me and Bon Bon can coincide and do some records together again. I think we might even be able to hit the road and do some shows…Me and Bonnie don’t have issues, her and Irv have issues and it’s a tough thing you know what I’m saying? He brought her into the family but…me and her never had no real friction at all.” (SOHH)
