The legendary songstress Ashanti and “We The Best” producer, DJ Khaled both received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They were both recognized by their peers and fans as major contributors to pop culture.
Ashanti was honored by the Hollywood Walk of Fame with her very own star. She joins some of Hollywood’s best and brightest with her new accolade. Her ceremony was held on Thursday April 7th at 11:30 PDT. Guest speakers included none other than her label mate and longtime musical collaborator, Ja rule. Also appearing as a guest speaker was Tichina Arnold. Ashanti and Arnold bonded while working together on “The Wiz” in 2009.
During Tichina’s speech, she gave Ashanti her flowers in the most incredible way. She stated, “You deserve every bit of it, very rarely do you meet genuine people. You should be in the Guinness book of world records for being a beautiful human being.”
Ja Rule also spoke about what he thought of Ashanti, he stated “I am so happy and proud to be here, and to share this with you. I just wanna say I am proud of you, I love you, the sky’s the limit.”
The ceremony ended with an announcement by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce declaring April 7th, “Ashanti Day.”
He’s “The Best”
In a very fashionable orange suit, DJ Khaled was honored with his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of fame. In attendance was a who’s who of hip hop artists with P. Diddy, Jay-Z, Fat Joe, Future, N.O.R.E., Jeezy, and Teyona Taylor to name a few. The ceremony was held on Monday, April 11th at 11:30 PDT. Guest speakers were Fat Joe and P. Diddy. Also in attendance were Hip-Hop executives LA Reid and Steve Rifkin.
During Fat Joe’s speech, he gave Khaled his utmost propers. Joe stated, “When I think of Khaled I think of love. That’s the only reason why you see the heavyweights here like you see them all here. Everybody flew in for this.”
P. Diddy reinforced the fact that Khaled is deserving of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Diddy stated, “you worked harder than anybody, and it was bigger than yourself. You wanted to have an impact on the world. You wanted to have an impact to help motivate and inspire others, besides yourself.”
At the end of the ceremony, while taking photos in front of the freshly unveiled star, Khaled surrounded the star with his personal collection of exclusive sneakers. In January, Khaled posted his brand new Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 Lows.
