Pop diva Ariana Grande has come through with her highly-anticipated “Thank U, Next” music video. After some social media teasing, the crooner premiered her visual to the masses Friday.
Over five minutes in length, Grande goes with a high school-themed video to discuss her past relationships and current state of mind.
Yesterday, speculation developed about reality TV mom Kris Jenner appearing in the video.
Yes, TMZ has learned Kris Jenner is the mystery Kardashian who scored the cameo role. Take that, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kendall … and Rob. As we first reported … Ariana’s music vid — which is an homage to several famous chick flicks — drops on Friday, and the big question was which Kardashian she’d lined up to make their dancing debut. Earlier this month, Ariana dropped the song and addressed various ex-boyfriends including late hip-hop artist Mac Miller.
“Thought I’d end up with Sean/But he wasn’t a match/Wrote some songs about Ricky/Now I listen and laugh/Even almost got married/And for Pete I’m so thankful/Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm [Miller]/Cause he was an angel” (“Thank U, Next”)
Hours before it dropped, buzz and speculation developed on Grande’s personal song.
Record label sources tell TMZ, the overarching theme of the song — titled “Thank u, next” — is empowerment … what she’s been through in her relationships and other experiences. We’re told it is not a diss track. Our sources say she specifically names Pete, Mac and others … but she doesn’t go after Pete the way she did earlier this week after he publicly joked about their breakup. She had accused him of being a hypocrite … pretending he wasn’t into being in the spotlight yet hanging on for dear life. (TMZ)
